Nicknamed "the Crown City" for its Spanish name meaning, Coronado, California is a beautiful peninsula seated very near San Diego and the North Island. Since its relative settling in the mid 1900s, the population has grown to over 24,000 and is now a favoured destinations for tourists and local residents as well. Because Coronado is very near to the beautiful Californian waters, much of its uniqueness and special features come from the beaches and bays. Places to go include the Central Beach, gorgeous Glorietta Bay Beach, and the Ferry Landing Marketplace. An 18-hole golf course, which offers stunning views of both the renowned Coronado Bridge, Hotel Del Coronado, and the San Diego Bay, is a desired location of many who visit this city. Here in Coronado, visitors and residents alike will enjoy the Coronado Main Street with its high class shopping and dining experiences. Those looking for entertainment will enjoy the Lambs Players Theater, and for history lovers, the Coronado Museum of History and Art is the place to be. Though not full of attractions, Coronado is near enough to San Diego that bigger venues are not a far distance. And, thankfully, perhaps after a long day of much sight-seeing or in the busy city, much-needed solace can be found right here on the peninsula
