You're probably wondering where the name Hollow Point came from? One urban legend speaks of a sub base at the tip of Point Loma, underneath the lighthouse. The legend says that the "Point" of the land under water is "Hollow" and that's where the military stored all their nuclear submarines during World War II. Another legend says there's a secret military city underground called "HOLLOW POINT". Being located in California Hollow point can also refer back to the strong surfing culture. Nothing better than getting barreled in a hollow wave, the strongest most powerful variety of breaking waves! CHEERS
